Follow up appointments.

Ongoing osteopathic appointments take the following structure

Initial update of condition: this can include changes in intensity, frequency, type and distribution of symptoms. New symptoms are also investigated and the patient's adherence to the management plan is noted. Changes can be made to the plan if there is any difficulty with it.

Examination: a physical examination is performed to note improvements in symptoms and to inform the reliability of the current working musculoskeletal diagnosis.

Musculoskeletal diagnosis: this is confirmed at each treatment so that the patient is clear what their condition is.

Treatment and management: this is created with consent and agreement of both the patient and osteopath.

Prognosis: any changes in the length of time or the amount of treatments required to treat a condition is made to the patient.
